as you can see, i am on the right side, playing famous. haha ;) |
Last summer i went to India with my mom and dad, and honestly, i loved it.
well at first it was way to hot, it was about 40 degrees and the air humidity was incredibly high.
When we left the airport, i, a blond girl and white as milk, got stared by all the indian people.
People were coming to me and they were telling me how incredible beautiful i was, even people were taking photographs! Wow, i felt like an celebrity.
When we arrived at our hotel in Delhi we start to take a look in India. To be honest, Delhi is an dirty city. I didn't expect delhi to be ... yeah like that. I cant even describe it.
But the people... they were so friendly! Even some woman came to me, and ask very kindly if they could make a picture of me, so i said: only if you come stand next to me, well they agreed.
so after shooting 100 pictures it was time to meet the indian food.
I had an Butter Chicken and yes, they were right.. damn that was spicy!
After Delhi, we went to Jaipur, and after Jaipur, we went to Agra. Agra is famous because of the "Tai Mahal" and wow, that was a spectacular building! we went to the Tai Mahal at 6 am in the morning! it was because then we were able to see the "sunrise" in front of the Tai, well unfortunately it rained the whole morning.. so after we took an great look at the Tai, i got stalked again. Everybody wanted to take a picture with me. So i did, but then they wouldn't stop! so my mom and i ran away (we really did..)
after Agra we went with the night train to Varanesi, Varanesi is famous because of the "holy river" the Ganges. well.. the night train.. we honestly could say that that was an horrible ride. My mom was sick (she had an delhi belly) and we were sitting with us 4 on 1 sticky bank.. some indian were playing there own music and they couldn't keep there eyes of of me the whole interring ride, so annoying!
That was a moment when we missed holland!
In Varanesi we went to the Ganges, on a boat. That was amazing. While we were floating on the river our 2 rowers stopped and said that they will bring us to an indian funeral. At first i didn't want to see it, because i knew they were going to burn the body just on the side of the river, but that was not what i thought it was. So this dead body was covered up in all colorful flowers and was carried by there family all over the way to the Ganges. The man (i think the son? of maybe the father?) put the dead body into the river, and 3 guys hold it, otherwise it will flew away. So the man put his hands into the water 3 times, and dripped the water over the mans forehead, and so did all the people who where there for this man.
So, i looked a little closer and i saw that, behind al the people, a other dead body was waiting for his turn! it shocked me.. so after everybody said goodbye to the dead man they burned it, 2 meters near the ganges, where everybody could see it.. even us!
But then, the other "waiting" man was coming and this person looked different than the other one, so i asked our "guide" why.. he told us, that he was not going to be burned, he would be thrown into the river! i couldn't believe it, there were people drinking this water, washing themselves with this water, and even doing there laundry with this water! unbelievable.. so the reason he was not allowed to be burned, was because he was bitten by a cobra, and that was an holy animal in the Hindu. So everybody must be burned, except the ones who were ; Pregnant, bitten by a cobra, suffered from leprosy, or if you were a child. So the dead body, who were bitten by a cobra, was tied up on a big rock, and put at front of a boat near us. They turned the boat 3 times to the left, and threw the body in the water! and nobody seemed to be afraid of that, because there were 3 children near to the boat playing around and they didn't care that they just "dumped" a dead body next to them.
So it noticed my mom that there were no women around the funeral, that was because of the emotions of the women, the emotions were so powerful that they couldn't control it. Once, even a woman jumped on the fire so she would die the same time with her man! so they banned the woman.. even that hurt my feelings...
I really enjoyed my trip to India, and if you are able, you should definitely go there!
(but if your blond, bring a cap of dye your hair, and bring big sunglasses, because you have to hide for your "fans" ;)
also if you have a low-selfesteem you should definitely go there, you will get plenty of compliments for the rest of your life.
With love,
Esmee
